If you are a small business owner, you know that life gets busy. You have the freedom of being your own boss, but it’s also on you to bring customers in and make your business work. And sometimes things run smoothly, but sometimes the flow of people just dries up.
At some point, you have probably found yourself thinking, “What should I do?” You know something has to change, but your life is already full. I can hear you thinking, “Should I use an event to promote my business? But I really don’t have the time, energy, or resources to put this together. And what is a business event anyway?”
Well, let me tell you something: all small businesses can benefit from promoting what they offer through events. And no, they don’t have to be complicated, messy, or expensive. You don’t need to pay an agency if you are on a tight budget. You just need guidance and a clear strategy.
The Story Behind My Approach
I would like to give you some background on why this is so important to me. My parents had a small tapas bar in the centre of my hometown, Seville. They ran it for twenty years, starting in the early ’90s—do you remember the world before the internet and social media? I was quite young then, but from the beginning, I helped them in their business and saw first-hand how sometimes they struggled.
I wish I had all the knowledge and experience I have now to help them. Perhaps, for example, while I was at university, I could have helped them create a monthly book club at the bar to bring people in and spread the word among students. I cannot help their business anymore since they are retired now, but I would love to help yours.
Events for Small Business Owners Are Accessible to Everyone
A business event is any gathering organised to connect with your audience and achieve your business goals. It does not have to be a big conference or an expensive dinner. It can be a simple, creative idea that works for your business. For example, a webinar, a showcase of a new product for a small group of loyal customers, a coffee tasting experience, or a book club, just like my idea for my parents’ business.
What would work for your business depends on your unique goals and values. But you have the benefit of the internet, AI, and social media, and my years of experience working on physical, digital, and hybrid events. We can find a solution that fits you perfectly.
